Who treads here?
I see two mysterious other people signed on at 11:44pm. Are we to see a feature that lets us peek at them?
Yes and no. The upcoming release will have personal messaging and chat. BUT if the users don't join a thread and communicate you won't know they are there. Other than the online counter. But the idea behind Twisted is to allow people to have multiple facets online like they can in real life. So privacy is everything. The other social networks are designed that people only have one persona, one group of friends that are also their family. There are many things I share with my family and not my friends and visa versa. But in their website your life is laid out flat and over simplified. Which is awesome for simple people I suppose. But for those of us normal people, we pick and choose what information about us goes to who. The current state of the system is mostly just focused on front end in a sense. Making a AJAX website with some of my loose ideas and seeing what works and fails. I know what fails now and rewriting things. The future website will be a whole lot clearer of how this is a social network. BUT this why I didn't want you to spread around this site. The next release is going to be locked down with a beta key for signup. I don't want the general public here while i'm experimenting on what works and doesn't. I don't mind people here but they need to understand this is a experiment not something that I think is ready for prime time.
